Believers Medical Journal follows a rigorous, fair, and confidential double-blind peer-review process to maintain the quality, originality, scientific validity, and ethical standards of the research it publishes. Under this review model, the identities of authors are concealed from reviewers, and the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to authors. This process is intended to ensure that manuscripts are evaluated objectively on the basis of their academic merit, methodology, relevance, and contribution to the field of medicine and healthcare.
All manuscripts submitted to Believers Medical Journal first undergo an initial editorial screening. During this stage, the Editorial Office assesses whether the manuscript is within the scope of the journal and whether it meets the basic requirements relating to formatting, completeness, originality, language quality, ethical declarations, and scientific presentation. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s minimum requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or declined before external peer review.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are generally sent to independent subject experts for peer review. Reviewers are selected on the basis of their academic qualifications, research experience, professional expertise, and familiarity with the specific subject area of the submitted manuscript. The journal normally seeks comments from at least two qualified reviewers; however, the number of reviewers may vary depending on the manuscript type, subject area, and editorial requirements.
Reviewers are requested to assess manuscripts on the basis of the following criteria:
Based on reviewer recommendations and editorial evaluation, the manuscript may be accepted, accepted subject to minor revisions, returned for major revisions, reconsidered after revision, or rejected. The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor or the authorized Editorial Board member.
Authors who are asked to revise their manuscript must submit a revised version along with a clear, point-by-point response to the comments received from reviewers and editors. Depending on the nature of the revisions, the revised manuscript may be reviewed again by the original reviewers, additional reviewers, or the Editorial Team.
Believers Medical Journal maintains confidentiality throughout the peer-review process. Submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents and must not be shared, discussed, copied, or used for personal benefit by reviewers or editorial personnel without authorization from the Editorial Office.
Reviewers are expected to disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest before accepting a review assignment. A reviewer who believes that an impartial assessment is not possible must decline the invitation to review. The journal also expects reviewers to provide constructive, respectful, evidence-based, and professionally written comments. Personal criticism, discriminatory language, unsupported allegations, or inappropriate remarks are not accepted.
